Bright & Airy: Morningside Kitchen Remodel
Project Details
This kitchen and powder room renovation project was designed to transform the main level of a 100+ year old home by enhancing the flow of the space and updating key features while honoring the home's historic character. The homeowners were seeking a more open and efficient kitchen layout with expanded counter and storage space, as well as a seamless connection to the dining room for entertaining. We opened up the floor plan by removing the wall between the kitchen and dining area creating an open concept space ideal for daily living and hosting. The clients wanted a crisp and clean look, which our team helped them envision with bright white cabinetry, new hardwood flooring, custom cabinetry, quartz countertops, a charming backsplash, and pops of honey bronze hardware. As with most older Pittsburgh homes, there was no first floor bathroom, so a new power room was added to the rear of the kitchen to modernize and increase functionality of the space. The result of this kitchen renovation was a bright, welcoming, and highly functional space that preserves the character of the historic home while meeting the modern needs of its residents.
